DEPT. COMMUNICATION BASKETBALL CORUÑA

Basketball Coruña SAD announces the incorporation of the player Aleix Font (194cm, 24 years old). He is an international shooting guard with the training categories of the Spanish team. He landed in the orange club from Casademont Zaragoza, a team in which he played for the last two seasons in the ACB league.

Aleix Font Rodríguez is a Catalan player (Barcelona, ??1998), who comes to occupy the shooting guard position. He began playing for JAC Sants, where he remained until 2013 (2 years of this time he was training in Dublin). Later he joined FC Barcelona, ??passing through the youth categories of the Barça club, with which he was proclaimed champion of Spain Cadet in 2014. He was also called up by the Spanish U16 team, with which he won the bronze medal in the European from Riga. In 2015 he debuted with the FC Barcelona subsidiary in LEB gold, and was called up to play the Copa del Rey with the first team. In addition, that same year he was chosen as the best shooting guard at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament 2016 held in Hospitalet de Llobregat. In the 2018-2019 season, he had a great performance on the courts, which earned him inclusion in the Best Quintet of the competition and winning the Cup with the first team. In the 2019-2020 season, after his great performances, he left on loan to Brose Bamberg of the easycredit BBL, but the few opportunities he had made him return to Spain, ending up on loan at Monbus Obradoiro. In the summer of 2020 he separated from FC Barcelona signing with Casademont Zaragoza. He began the 2020-2021 season on loan to Basquet Girona in LEB gold, but in December he returned to Zaragoza in the highest category, the team he now comes from.

He is a player in a clear period of evolution, with a lot of charisma and differential gall in offensive aspects of the game. His talent to create advantages in one-on-one perimeter situations, his ability to shoot, both from standing still and in indirect blocking exits, together with his magnificent reading in direct blocking situations, will provide an ideal plus for this new Leyma Básquet Coruña of the 2022-2023 season.

From Básquet Coruña SAD we want to convey our joy to the player for his incorporation into the Leyma squad. We want to wish him the best of luck and a happy stay in the city and with the team. We are sure that the orange fans will really enjoy this incorporation and their level of play in #OFornoDeRiazor.
