Alejandro Mazaira Gómez (Ourense, 1997) began to play basketball in his hometown, but when he was barely fifteen he headed to Barcelona to join the lower categories of FC Barcelona. With the Blaugranas he won several championships and runners-up in lower categories and made his debut in LEB Oro in the 2016/17 season. That same season, Mazaira combined for a good part of it between the subsidiary and the ACB first team. In the summer of 2017, he signed a three-season contract with Básquet Manresa. He would play all of them on loan to teams like Martorell and Zortnoza from LEB Plata and last year at Marín Peixe Galego from LEB Oro. Last season he returned home to join Club Ourense Baloncesto with whom he averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per meeting.
Valuation Arturo Álvarez, coach Melilla Sport Capital
For the Dean’s coach, with the addition of Mazaira, the team gets a specialist from the 6.75 meter line: “He is a specialist from the triple. A great shooter with extraordinary efficiency ”.
In addition, Arturo Álvarez hopes that this season will be the consolidation and explosion of the Galician wing: “It has grown a lot in recent years and we hope that this season in Melilla it will explode and show its best basketball.”
