He made his debut as a Copa de la Reina referee in the edition held in Salamanca two decades ago (2002) and this Friday night, the referee Ángel de Lucas has gone down in history as one of the competition’s traditional referees by inaugurating which will be his tenth participation in such a prestigious tournament.
Because in the quarter-final duel between Spar Girona and Movistar Estudiantes, referee Alcarreño crossed the barrier of ten editions over two decades, which means one edition every two seasons. Of these, the last four consecutively, being present in Vitoria, Salamanca and Valencia on both occasions.
In this way, De Lucas has been enriching a record of services that has a total of 15 matches directed over the last few years and that has allowed him to be present in a total of 4 finals: Palma de Mallorca (2004), Arganda del Rey (2012), Torrejón de Ardoz (2014) and Girona (2017).
