<p>The official roster for the Spanish National Team was announced by the Spanish Basketball Federation this afternoon local time in Spain. With Gasol being the only big name who has opted out from the Spanish National team, the squad looks forward to playing in the World Championships where many teams are without their stars. Spain will look to dominate and perform as well as they have during the last EuroBasket Championships and the Beijing 2008 Olympics.</p>

<p><strong>Barcelona</strong> has been confirmed and selected as the official site of the 2014 World Basketball Championships. The games will be played in Palau Sant Jordi with capacity of 20,000 spectators. The decision was made by the <a href="http://www.fiba.com">FIBA</a> Central Board in San Juan, Puerto Rico.</p>
<p>Barcelona will host half of games competition beginning at the Eighth-Finals, Quarterfinals and Semifinals. Madrid will host the medal games.</p>
<p>The games of the first round will be played in Bilbao, Granada, Las Palmas, Gran Canaries and Seville.</p>

To start, the Spanish Mens National Team is just arriving back from Poland with a gold medal after the 2009 Eurobasket Championships. Serbia could not play against the tough defense and could not keep up with Spain&#8217;s shooting from the outside and inside.</p>
<p>After Spains bad start in the championship, they deserved every bit of winning this gold medal and the first in the history of Spains Mens Basketball in the Eurobasket Championships.</p>
