Ricky Rubio is only 19 years old and has received more awards than any Spanish Men’s Player at his age. Today he was presented with the FIBA Young Player of the Year award for the 3rd consecutive year. Rubio assisted his country Spain in winning last years EuroBasket 2009 Gold Medal and in his first year with FC Barcelona he helped them win the 2010 EuroLeague Championships Final held in Paris, France.

“I’m proud to receive this award.” stated Rubio.

“It also belongs to my teammates because last year´s gold medal at the EuroBasket helped me to receive it.

“I hope there are a lot more awards to come in the future”.

The official roster for the Spanish National Team was announced by the Spanish Basketball Federation this afternoon local time in Spain. With Gasol being the only big name who has opted out from the Spanish National team, the squad looks forward to playing in the World Championships where many teams are without their stars. Spain will look to dominate and perform as well as they have during the last EuroBasket Championships and the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

The Spain Basketball Federation has introduced the new uniforms for the Spanish National Teams both Men and Women. Players Elisa Aguilar and José Calderón are presented above in the picture with the new jersey that they will wear during the World Championships in Turkey and Czech Republic.

The Spanish National Team continues sponsorship with Chinese company Li-Ning. Every year the technology gets better and there is always great feedback and the players enjoy playing with the brand.

Pau Gasol may not have started the game like he wanted, but he surely finished strong to help the LAKERS during the stretch by scoring 19pts and 18 rebounds in the finals of the NBA 2010 Championship. FC Barcelona had all of the cards to become the champion of the ACB league this year by winning the, Kings Cup and the Euroleague. However, Caja Laboral came up big and surprised the giants of FC Barcelona.The game was tight from the beginning, however FC Barca could not close it during the stretch a a bad first half hurt their chances.

Caja Laboral took a commanding 2-0 lead by beating FC Barca at home in the first two meetings of the finals series in the ACB. Barca during the first game could not stop the offense of Caja Laboral, nor could they withstand the tough defense during 40 minutes of the game. In game 2, FC Barcelona came out demanding and leading most of the game until the final period. Caja Laboral made big baskets and carried the team to a comfortable lead in the series and could close it out at home where they play two consecutive games.

ViveMenorca courageously won in the final game of the LEB Oro Finals Game 5 of the playoffs for promotion to the ACB. ViveMenorca didn’t have it easy during any moment of the series against Ford Burgos. Menorca Basquet is no newcomer to the ACB,with an exception of this current season 2009-2010, ViveMenorca spent seasons 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 in the ACB.

I will try to be with the team as long as possible to offer my full support. In conclusion, I know that everyone knows my commitment with this team, and I regret this decision, but in the last four years I’m probably one of the players who have played more games in the world, having reached the finals of all the disputed contests with the Lakers and Spain. Now my body is calling for a temporary relief.

In the future I have all the hope of being part of this team that I love, and hope to be again part of the national team, our team.
