ANDhe Baxi Manresa extended its great moment of play against a very lost Hereda San Pablo Burgos, achieved its thirteenth win (93-68) in the Endesa League and continues to rub shoulders with the greats of the championship.

The team from Burgos has not known victory since Paco Olmos directed it and in the Nou Congost they lost all their chances of winning in a lousy first half, in which they were overtaken by the choral play of Pedro Martínez’s men, who reached the break with half a game in his pocket (49-32).

Chima Moneke, with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 ball recoveries, was the most outstanding player in the game in terms of statistics, but what clearly decided the duel was the great contribution of the interior game from Manresa. His centers added 47 of his team’s 93 points, to which Joe Thomasson added 15.

The locals started the match more intense (6-0, min. 3), with Jon Thomasson and Dani Pérez adding their first points. The Catalan team had a more balanced game, while Paco Olmos’ men trusted everything to the success of their pitchers, with Jarell Eddie adding seven goals (13-11, min. 7).

Two three-pointers by Thomasson and Francisco launched Baxi Manresa up to an eleven-point lead (25-14, min. 10), dominating the offensive rebound and punishing their rival’s mistake with their quick play.

The team from Burgos got closer on the scoreboard at the start of the second quarter with points from Kullamaee and Renfroe (32-26, min. 15), but the little contribution of their pivots in attack conditioned their options to further reduce their disadvantage.

Hereda San Pablo Burgos did not maintain their success from the outside and Thomasson returned to the charge to take the locals to a new maximum advantage (42-29, min. 18). The constant turnovers -10 in the first half- and Baxi Manresa’s 11 offensive rebounds were a burden for the visitors, totally outclassed at halftime (49-32).

Landry Nnoko appeared at the start of the third quarter, which, together with the success of Díez and Kullamaee in the triple, gave the team from Burgos some hope of getting into the game (57-46, min. 25). Baxi Manresa reacted quickly with Sima and Vaulet to finish the match (66-46, min.27).

The last quarter was a formality for the locals, who took the opportunity to give ten more minutes of good basketball to their fans against a surrendered Hereda San Pablo Burgos in which Julian Gamble made up for his poor statistics from the first half.

Pedro Martínez gave minutes to the young Marcis Steinmbergs, who scored four points, and the icing on the game was a triple by Rafa Martínez to put the maximum lead of the match coinciding with the final score (93-68).
