Bea Sánchez is the second new face for the Kutxabank Araski project. The 31-year-old interior from Cádiz signs for a season in which it will be her seventh club as a professional player.

To know Sánchez’s first experience in LF2 we have to go back to the 2008/09 season and to CB Uni Cajacanarias de Tenerife. ADBA, Uni Ferrol and Embutidos Pajariel Bembibre were his next destinations. With the bercianas she achieved promotion to the Endesa Women’s League, where she had her first experience in the highest category.

Later he returned to Ferrol, a team in which, led by Lino López, he was one of the protagonists of the important growth of the Galician club from 2013-14 to 2017-18. In those five seasons the performance of the Andalusian was increasing to the point of consolidating among the best interiors in the competition. His numbers did not go unnoticed by Lucas Mondelo, and he was part of the teams that won the gold medal at the Eurobasket 2017 and the bronze medal at the 2018 World Cup. He has been an absolute international 33 times.

This good performance earned him to sign for Spar Citylift Girona, where he would achieve the league championship. However, an untimely herniated disc before the start of the competition marked his season and prevented him from progressing his growth. The last two seasons it has belonged to Durán Maquinaria Ensino. In the last year he has averaged 7.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and a PIR of 10.9.

The woman from Cádiz joins Kutxabank Araski “for her exciting project, I identify a lot with her philosophy of all character and heart.” Sánchez is 100% passionate on the track. “I’m looking forward to connecting with the fans, which is one of the things that I value the most and that make me enjoy what I do the most, and of course get to know the city of Vitoria from the inside. I really want to work with Made and her staff that I’m sure they will push me to the max and get the best out of me ”.

Sánchez will contribute “commitment, character and involvement. I am a very hard-working player and every season I seek to go one step further and Kutxabank Araski is the ideal place. Of course the ME at the service of the team. At the level of play I can contribute in all facets, both offensive and defensive, but I will be prepared for everything Made asks of me ”.

Madelén Urieta makes a very positive assessment of his incorporation to Kutxabank Araski. “His experience and his passion on the court, the way he connects with the stands and how he experiences each action in the games, have been the key for both parties to want to share our path. She is a player with a very good ability to read the game and pass, with a very good shot and brave in hot moments. It will be an important piece in our inner game that will give balance to the squad ”.
