Basketball In Spain

Two days before Spain makes their debut in Turkey, Coach Scariolo gives his analysis on each team in Group D.

FRANCE
It is an extremely athletic team, with players competing in the NBA or major teams in Europe. Expect big scoring by the trio  Colo-Batum-Diaw. Last year, to win in Poland, we had to play our best game against them.

NEW ZEALAND
A team with a winning mentality that comes from defeating Australia in the Oceania Championships. The preparation the games they have shown that its star player is Kirk Penney,and is well supported by Phil Jones, who joins But Cameron and charismatic leader.

LITHUANIA
It’s a team with a great scoring ability. With a big star like Linas Kleiza to the front, with many other important players with European experience and a great danger from the three point line.

LEBANON
In recent years it has achieved a strong tradition of basketball. It is one of the best teams in the last Asian championships and has included players trained in the U.S. and Matt Freije and Jackson Vroman, which will give strength under the basket to a very perimeter playing team.

CANADA
You will not see the same team when we faced them in Las Palmas. They have brought players and have achieved significant results in their preparation, including a win over one of the favorites, such as Serbia.
