Aragón TV has reached an agreement to broadcast Endesa Women’s League matches for the 2021-2022 season, especially those played by Casademont Zaragoza as a home or away team. The matches can be followed through the digital terrestrial television (DTT) broadcasts of Aragón TV and also through the streaming of Aragón Deporte.
With this agreement, Aragón TV reinforces its commitment to women’s sport and especially to women’s basketball, whose broadcasts will be preceded by the new program ‘Zona Basket’, with all the latest news on this sport.
The president of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Jorge Garbajosa, has indicated that “There is something about this agreement that has to do with ambition and naturalness. From the FEB we began a path of support for women’s basketball five years ago, and within that we decided to expand the visibility of our Women’s League and promote the recognition that the The players had been won by their effort and commitment. That Aragon TV joins this trend now is something that makes us happy and fills us with pride, and I have the feeling that every minute you dedicate to women’s basketball will be worth it. I am sure that you will not regret betting on our players “.
For her part, the director of the Permanent Office of the FEB Leagues, Elisa Aguilar, considers that “We are the best League in Europe, due to the increase in competitiveness and the emergence of projects such as Casademont Zaragoza that fill us with enthusiasm and allow us to continue growing. This agreement is a boost so that in two or three years we will be the best World League “.
The director general of CARTV, Francisco Querol, has indicated that the public audiovisual media “We must promote the social change necessary to end the discrimination that women’s sports have historically suffered.” “The athletes, with their effort, with their achievements and victories have been paving the way for years and from the Aragonese chain we want to assume our commitment by giving them visibility”, has underlined.
With its support for women’s sports, the chain wishes to support the steps that the teams are taking to achieve greater professionalization and offer positive female references that help to overcome imbalances.
In this effort, the channel also has the possibilities offered by the digital channel Aragón Deporte, which has multiplied the offer of sports broadcasts. Through this channel, the Aragonese radio and television broadcast last year 191 retransmissions of the most varied sports disciplines, a figure that this year hopes to increase thanks to the agreements reached with clubs and federations.
