There is no doubt that Rudy Fernandez is ready to leave Portland. Following a very mediocre year in the NBA during his second season, Fernandez has been looking at options to go back to play in Europe in Spain or another NBA team is possible within the trade and contract with Portland. There are rumors that Rudy could land in: Boston, Chicago or New York after the trade.

Coach McMillian is stated as saying “Rudy is a team player and his style of play requires minutes. He needs to get rhythm and it is complicated coming off ofhte bench. I believe that is his frustration.”

Rudy Fernandez is looking to restore his image in the World Championships in Turkey.

Ricky Rubio is only 19 years old and has received more awards than any Spanish Men’s Player at his age. Today he was presented with the FIBA Young Player of the Year award for the 3rd consecutive year. Rubio assisted his country Spain in winning last years EuroBasket 2009 Gold Medal and in his first year with FC Barcelona he helped them win the 2010 EuroLeague Championships Final held in Paris, France.

“I’m proud to receive this award.” stated Rubio.

“It also belongs to my teammates because last year´s gold medal at the EuroBasket helped me to receive it.

“I hope there are a lot more awards to come in the future”.

The official roster for the Spanish National Team was announced by the Spanish Basketball Federation this afternoon local time in Spain. With Gasol being the only big name who has opted out from the Spanish National team, the squad looks forward to playing in the World Championships where many teams are without their stars. Spain will look to dominate and perform as well as they have during the last EuroBasket Championships and the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

The Spain Basketball Federation has introduced the new uniforms for the Spanish National Teams both Men and Women. Players Elisa Aguilar and José Calderón are presented above in the picture with the new jersey that they will wear during the World Championships in Turkey and Czech Republic.

The Spanish National Team continues sponsorship with Chinese company Li-Ning. Every year the technology gets better and there is always great feedback and the players enjoy playing with the brand.

Pau Gasol may not have started the game like he wanted, but he surely finished strong to help the LAKERS during the stretch by scoring 19pts and 18 rebounds in the finals of the NBA 2010 Championship.
