In an unusual week given the wide presence of matches, Movistar Estudiantes did not want to give a single thought to the Final of the Copa Princesa until their last league match was played in Valladolid. An appointment resolved with victory on the night of last Tuesday and that brought the expedition back to Madrid that same night. Thus, after enjoying a Wednesday off, the team returned to work on Thursday with a session that alternated recovery and work.
A work plan that has had its replicas in the days of Thursday and Friday and that has passed in parallel to different moments in which the team has felt closely the warmth and affection of its fans with moments such as the family photo together to the extensive youth academy of the club or the presence of fans in the vicinity of the Movistar Academy to convey their messages of encouragement to the team.
Usual match plan for a few hours beforehand with the family
Already in the hours prior to the Final, the Movistar Estudiantes squad took advantage of Saturday morning to carry out their last work session ahead of the final. A training session that took place in their usual work bunker, a Movistar Academy Magariños in which the team trained for just over an hour with a session that began with the usual scouting work on the rival led by Jota Cuspinera and Inaki Martin. Video session on the same parquet and that has been followed by a shooting session with which to sharpen the aim for the fight for the title.
And all this with an added surprise from the student fans with the placement of a banner in the stands with the motto: “No bet is riskier than giving ourselves up for dead”.
At its completion and after having been able to count on all their available men, the squad was able to go to their homes where each of them could spend the hours prior to the Final with their families. A rest period that will end around 11 am on Sunday when the players begin to walk the access walkway to the WiZink Center changing rooms to meet on the stage of the final.
From that moment on, what happens will be history to be written…
