Halcón Avenida Avendia 68 – Spartak Moscow 50

Halcon Avenida had the taste of the Euroleague Final last year as they reached the final, however fell short. A year later, new building stones with new head coach, Lucas Mondelo with an addition of a few all-stars, Avenida was able to overcome the powerhouse of Russia, Spartak Moscow. Lead by top Spanish sensation, Alba Torrens and Euroleague MVP, Avenida was hard to stop in the second half.

Inside and out, they proved to be the best in Europe with the final score 68-59. Point guard Silvia Dominguez had a great duty in front of her as she had to guard one of the best point guards in the world, Sue Bird. In the end, the defense performance of the Salamanca team earned every bit of respect today as the new champions in Europe and second team to bring a title home to  Spain, 18 years later.
