They fell to the LEB Plata League at the end of last year and did so after 9 interrupted seasons in the LEB Gold League, but at Hereda Ourense they seem willing to turn this decline into an opportunity. Or at least that is how Armando Gómez’s team is broadcasting it on the track where they have equaled tonight -despite their defeat- the best start to the season of a recently relegated team emulating Gijón Baloncesto from a distant 2007 (7-1) .

Get to the LEB Gold League After a demotion, it is not usually an easy task for its protagonists. The feelings of those who have had to go through it say it and this is confirmed by the numbers signed throughout the last 22 years for the 25 teams that they had to find themselves in such a difficult situation.
And it is that they did not enjoy excessive fortune, especially at the beginning of the season, historical national basketball clubs that even saw themselves in relegation positions to the EBA League. All a handicap that has jumped this course through the air from the hand of a Inherit Ourense that has fully entered the history of the competition tonight.
Because, despite their defeat at El Plantío de Burgos, the group of Armando Gomez has been able to sign an initial balance of 7-1 in his locker thus equaling the only historical precedent of the competition, that of a Gijón Basketball to which the Galicians have teamed up to reaffirm their desire for promotion.
A whole morale boost for the work of a team that, despite losing its undefeated condition in overtime today, has started the championship with a firm step.
Heating Farhó Gijón, the last and only precedent:
A total of 14 seasons have elapsed since the historic Gijón Baloncesto achieved the last immaculate start to the season by a team recently relegated from the LEB Gold League. Specifically, a 7-0 that led the Asturian team to lead the table during the First 7 days of competition. A whole streak that came to an end a week later, with their visit to a Bàsquet Muro before which they could do nothing to avoid defeat (104-91).
The best possible start to the penultimate season in the history of a club whose end might not have come if the course of the season had not ended with the direct promotion of Akasvayu Vic. A first disappointment that sent the Asturians to the Playoffs for the ascent (5th).
There, the team from Gijón was about to conquer the dream of returning to the LEB Oro League, but their defeat in the last match of the Final Four in Cáceres against CB Illescas Urban (78-68) was the beginning of the end for one of the historic national basketball clubs.
Ourense inherits, a history with really clear ideas:
After 14 years from the great start of the Asturian team, Hereda Ourense has been able to match its record tonight despite its defeat on a court with as much tradition as El Plantío de Burgos.
All this after a defeat that ended seven unbeatable days for a 7-1 that makes Armando Gómez’s team the best recently released in the 22 seasons of the history of the LEB Plata League together with the team from Gijón.
In this way, the Galician team will start a new challenge next week since, in case of achieving two consecutive victories on days 9 and 10, they will be able to overcome the 8-2 achieved by its predecessor. All this to be able to opt, during the next months, to achieve a promotion from LEB Silver to LEB Gold that they will sign in both 2009 and 2012.
The best mirror in which to look at yourself when trying to return to the higher category on the fast track.
