J.29: The illusion of permanence is sustained by Theresa Plaisance’s first MVP

Tenerife’s sports management knew very well the type of player they were incorporating into their squad for the final stretch of a season in which Theresa Plaisance’s WNBA character was going to be decisive when it came to weighing her options in the category. A player who has made a difference and who was decisive last Thursday night for the Canarian team to achieve a victory with which to face the last day depending solely on themselves.

Breathe a little easier Tenerife during the last hours after the victory harvested on the field of Santiago Martín. A win against one of the Competition’s coconuts, a Valencia Basketball that succumbed to the wishes of permanence of the Canarian team in a penultimate day that completely invested his fortune after several weeks in the relegation places (77-58).

Because from that same final honk, Tenerife began to depend on itself in a League in which a victory on the last day will be synonymous with a permanence that will only be truncated in the event that a defeat in San Sebastián is accompanied by a victory of Pajariel Bembibre during his visit to Ferrol. And all this thanks to the role played in the painting by a Theresa Plaisance intractable with a total of 31 PIR goals.

And it is that the North American pivot was the axis on which a victory sustained in its 24 points (10/19TC), 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 foul received. Star numbers and that may be synonymous with permanence over the next few hours.

Anecdotal section:

It was the last incorporation of the LF Endesa during 2021 when it was announced as the new reinforcement of the Clarinos on the afternoon of December 29. A movement with which the Canarian team launched a whole ordeal to permanence and that has been bearing fruit as confirmed by the numbers. Because until its incorporation, Tenerife had a balance of 3 wins in 14 games, which meant a 21% win rate, numbers that have increased since then to 40% with 6 wins in the last 15 games. Figures that have allowed the Canary Islands to be able to depend solely on themselves on the last day.

The ideal quintet of the day:
