UEMC Real Valladolid Basketball will present a new face on the bench for the 2022/2023 season. Julio Torres, a former basketball player with a past even in the Pisuerga team, will be the new delegate for the Blanquivioleta team and, therefore, will be part of Paco García’s coaching staff.
Julio Torres Blanco (Madrid, June 25, 1965) is a former professional basketball player who played a total of 16 seasons in Spain and Portugal. Students, Valladolid, Obradoiro, Vitoria, CB Murcia, Breogán de Lugo, Ourense, Telecom Luso, Seixal and Ovarense are the teams in which he has played between 1982 and 1999, years between which he has developed an important and extensive basketball career .

A total of 296 games in the ACB League guarantee an important career in national basketball, as he has even worn the shirt of the Spanish team on numerous occasions. Junior International, Julio Torres has two appearances with the senior team in 1991.

Once retired, his professional career has continued to be linked to the world of sports, which makes him a figure with important background both on and off the pitch, with which it is hoped that his presence under Paco García will contribute immediately in the performance and life of the UEMC Real Valladolid Baloncesto.

Excited about this return to Pisuerga and a basketball court, Julio Torres talks about his feelings and wishes. “I am very excited after speaking with Pepe Catalina and Paco García to return to what I consider my home, since I have gone through different stages, and to return directly to basketball, an activity that has been my life for many years. I know that the Club and the team are a family, that there is a good atmosphere and that things are being done well. A good team is being assembled and I hope that people come to the pavilion and enjoy themselves. I want us to have a good season and return the team to the highest possible level, where it deserves to be, and as soon as possible”.
