Oviedo Baloncesto thus joins the celebration of 8-M, Women’s Day, with various actions aimed at promoting equality in sport and in the different work areas.

The slogan chosen for the campaign this year is #BasketballDoesNotHaveGender with which we want to make visible our work in pursuit of equality both within our organization and in the institutions and companies that support us. Likewise, our players will wear a special shirt for the match.

During the presentation, the media were attended by Miryam Hernández, director of the Asturian Institute for the Prevention of Occupational Risks, and Héctor Galán, general director of Unicaja Banco Oviedo.

“With this action we want to celebrate International Women’s Day. It is easy for us in the field of basketball to talk about boys and girls, boys and girls, men and women, but we want to go one step further and help position labor equality in society Galan explained.

“For the match we are going to wear an exclusive kit that commemorates 8M in addition to actions on social networks using common basketball phrases using the hashtag #ElBaloncestoNoHasGender”, explained the director general of the OCB.

For his part, for Hernández, “being able to count on the OCB helps us to make labor equality visible and continue working” in that sense. “This is the third year that we have carried out the campaign and for us it is important that this day-to-day visibility, of constant work, have this attention platform to get the message across,” he explained.
