ANDhe Baxi Manresa will play the Basketball King’s Cup -in Granada-, 17 years later, after beating Monbus Obradoiro this Wednesday, in a game with a lot of rhythm in which the Galicians endured three quarters, but succumbed in the last against a team physically superior from Manresa; with special mention for the local center Chima Moneke, who stood out, with 32 points and a PIR of 39.

The local team started with a favorable run of 7-3 in the first two minutes of the match. But the Galician team reacted thanks to center Ellenson (10 points in the quarter) to turn the score around (9-13 min 5). The game picked up a lot of pace and Baxi Manresa moved like a fish in water on that ground. Even so, Obradoiro withstood the blows and was just one point behind after the first ten minutes.

After a few initial moments of exchange, in the middle of the fourth the Catalan team opened a dangerous gap that forced Moncho Fernández to stop the match (41-35 min 15). Baxi Manresa had a maximum of nine points in the fourth, but the Galicians came back from the triple and even went ahead at halftime.

The pace in the third quarter slowed. Both teams increased their defensive intensity, especially the locals who again opened a gap on the scoreboard (68-59 min 25). In the final stretch of the quarter, the Manresans suffered an offensive pothole that Obradoiro took advantage of to come back from behind and tighten the result before the final quarter.

It was difficult for the match to start in the last quarter, but it was Baxi Manresa who pressed the accelerator first, managing to put land in the middle (84-75 min 35). The Obradoiro could not withstand the fourth attack of the Catalans who broke the match in the last five minutes of the game to certify victory number 11 of the season.
