ANDhe UCAM Murcia continues in the fight to qualify for the Endesa League title phase thanks to its comfortable victory (55-84) on the Coosur Real Betis court, in a match in which the away team’s shooters, with twelve triples, marked the differences from the second period.
The Swedish power forward of Coosur Betis Nick Spiers, reappeared after more than two months, was the surprise of Joan Plaza in the starting five, in a match in which the Greek veteran Kostas Vasileiadis debuted with the shirt of the Murcian team, which reinforced Sito Alonso’s rotation.
UCAM Murcia achieved the first notable income (10-19, min. 8) after a basket by Isaiah Taylor, in a vein of success during the first two quarters, but two balls stolen by Yakouba Ouattara at the end of the first period favored the 7 -0 with which the Betis kept in contact (17-19).
The Murcian advantage shot up in the second quarter with an 11-24 that showed the offensive problems of Coosur Betis, which had a hard time selecting comfortable shots and was unable to stop the UCAM shooters, who scored four triples in eight attempts to almost secure the win at halftime (28-43).
If there was any suspense, it was conjured in the third period, when the long-distance shooting recital of the university students continued and the difference in the score increased exponentially, reaching a peak of twenty-five points (38-63, min . 28) about a Coosur in which only Nick Kay gave the reply.
With little at stake, the last period was used by some players to make up their individual statistics, as did the Dominican James Feldeine, top local scorer (14 points), and allowed Sito Alonso to make their debut for three homegrown players: Corraliza, Sorensen and Alex Antetokounmpo.
