Belonging to the generation of ’98 and having just turned 23 during the course of the competition, the Catalan Laura Peña has earned her recognition as the National Revelation of a LF Endesa in which a great future awaits her.
Without skipping a single one of the logical steps of the formative stage and knowing how to make the most of her passage through each of them, point guard Laura Peña seems to have definitively established herself in the national basketball elite during what is now her third campaign in the LF Endesa.
A player who has played more than 130 games in the top flight and who has perfectly taken on the always difficult challenge of being able to take charge of a team in the noble zone of the table. Although much of the “blame” for the aspirations of her team has come from her solidity in the direction of the Catalan team.
An indisputable and almost essential piece for Bernat Canut’s schemes and that gains weight day by day in a competition that has known how to recognize his work. Because for coaches, captains and fans, no other player has a greater future than Laura Peña who enjoys her sweet present day by day on the courts.
Word of Laura Peña:
Balance of the season: “I want to show my gratitude to all those who have voted. To those coaches, technicians and players who have decided with their votes that she be the revelation player of the season. Nor do I want to miss the opportunity to congratulate my fellow nominees since both Natalia Rodríguez and Aina Ayuso are also great friends, as well as those award-winning players in the different categories. I would also like to thank my family, those closest to me, the club and the fans of La Seu d’Urgell for pushing us from the beginning of the season to make this an incredible and dream year. We know that this is not over so we are going to try to extend it as long as possible to continue enjoying the way we are doing”.
