The pass to the semifinals is a little closer for Zunder Palencia and Bàsquet Girona who were able to win 2-0 in their respective locker on Saturday night after two almost perfect matches in front of their fans. Two duels with which to impose a sixth gear before experiencing the track reversal next week in which they will try to close their series. A path very similar to that traced by Movistar Estudiantes at the Wizink Center and by ICG Força Lleida in two solid matches with which to close the full local victories.

The Municipal de Palencia got up early to host the second match of the quarterfinal round and it was worth it for the local fans seeing the final result. Because Zunder Palencia was able to sign the second point of the series after a match that had already started really well for their interests during the first minutes. All this thanks to the connection between Dani Rodríguez and Mus Barro with which the Palencians achieved income of more than ten points midway through the first quarter (watch video). In this way, the match became a complete fight against the clock for Unicaja Oviedo, who once again suffered in the paint due to the loss of Oli Arteaga, but who won integers with the circulation of the ball generated by their outside players. In this way, Natxo Lezkano’s men managed to launch different comeback attempts against a Zunder Palencia who, however, remained solid, responding to each of his rival’s actions. Honorable mention had the fight of a Juan Rubio who signed one of the most spectacular plays of the match (watch video) to leave the 2-0 on a horizon against which the people of Oviedo struggled without success until the end (83-70 / 2-0).

For its part, Bàsquet Girona was intractable on the Fontajau parquet, ratifying once again the good feelings exhibited during the first round. On this occasion, in order not to give a chance to a Leyma Coruña team who saw their rival start the game with 6 consecutive triples (18 points) through two goals from Marc Gasol and a stratospheric 8-meter basket from Josep Franch (watch video). An overwhelming start that seemed to deprive an unknown Leyma Coruña in attack of victory options very quickly and that could do little to close the gap. Because the lack of success of his MVP Ward, together with the role of Marc Gasol contributing to both sides of the court even with ball recoveries (watch video) left the meeting seen for sentencing. Thus, Jordi Sagartal’s team made it 2-0 overall in the series before heading to Riazor (92-62 / 2-0).

Already on Sunday morning, Movistar Estudiantes followed in the footsteps of their “court factor” teammates, adding the second in a row against UEMC Real Valladolid. A clash in which Diego Epifanio’s men set the pace of the game from the start with a great circulation of the ball in attack (watch video). In this way, the schoolboys set the rhythm of the game against a rival that resisted the changes of pace of the locals to keep the game going at all times. Although, Pippen’s return to his schemes was not enough to contain Kevin Larsen’s scoring success after passing through the locker room. Thus, Movistar Estudiantes reached the last minutes with everything in the face to be able to win a victory that they deservedly celebrated with their fans (watch video). The best news for your interests before heading to Pisuerga next week (73-58 / 2-0).

With Espai Fruita Barris Nord closing the day, ICG Força Lleida did not fail their predecessors either with a 2-0 victory before heading to Cáceres. A match in which the team from Lleida had to win twice since, after gaining a 15-point lead in the first minutes of the game, Cáceres PH knew how to react thanks to an intractable Devin Schmidt (watch video). But those of Gerard Encontr did not collapse, knowing how to temper nerves and find Michael Carrera in the low post to resume the differences. Although if there was a differential factor, that was an intractable Juani Marcos to put his team on the road to a victory that began to be sealed with Schreiner’s triples (watch video). From that moment on, the support of the fans did the rest so that the victory stayed at home, leaving the team from Lleida one step away from the Final Four (98-75 / 2-0).
