Real Madrid Loses In Overtime 86-98 To Maccabi in Euroleague Finals
Two years in a row, Real Madrid not able to capitalize on the opportunity to win its ninth Euroleague title. Ty Rice for Maccabi was too much for Real Madrid, as the tournament MVP Rice scored 26 points in the win for the Israel team. Madrid was up by 11points but they allowed Maccabi to come back and force an overtime to win their sixth Euroleague crown.
Sergio Rodgreiz was the top scorer for Real Madrid with 21 points, while Felipe Reyes had a great performance in the first half, his second half was of disappointment. Sergio Llull was held scoreless despite 35 minutes of play and Rudy Fernandez played with a broken finger scored 15 points.
