DEPT. COMMUNICATION CB ALMANSA WITH AFANION

After making his debut at the age of 18 in the category, in 2017/18 he signed for Palma where he shared a dressing room with our captain Carles Bivià. The following three campaigns he played for the LEB Plata in the ranks of Bàsquet Girona (with promotion included) and Zamora, returning to CB Prat in 21/22.

The Catalan game director averaged 9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists in just over 25 minutes of play last season in 33 games. In addition, he won the MVP award on matchday 14 after contributing 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists against Coviran Granada. Sergi has also been international in the lower categories of the Spanish National Team.

Costa, in full maturity despite his youth

Costa trained in the lower categories of Joventut de Badalona. The Catalan offers from his 190 centimeters of height a great vision of the game and wingspan that allow him to be a very versatile player. Capable of scoring from three points with solvency (34% last season), he will be a weapon on both sides of the track for the La Mancha block.

Nephew of the legendary Quim Costa, he arrives in Almansa to show that despite his 25 years he is a player with many boards. After the renewals of Carles Bivià and Edu Martínez and the signing of Lazar Mutic, Sergi Costa is the fourth piece of the 2022/2023 project of CB Almansa with AFANION.

Tino Ugidos tells us what we can expect from Costa: «Sergi’s arrival in the team will above all give us solidity in a position as important as the point guard. He is a very confident player in all his actions, with a good knowledge of the game and who has a lot of experience in the league despite his youth. He is a good team manager who also has points in his hands when needed. We are sure that in Almansa he will be able to develop all the potential as a player that he has inside. »

From the club we are delighted with the arrival of Costa to Almansa.

Welcome home, Sergio!
