Tflush a “intermediate” of a season, Jayson granger will wear the Barça shirt of the Baskonia. The Vitorian club has officially announced his signing today, with a two-year contract, confirming the return of the player to the team with which he was proclaimed ACB champion in 2020. Granger thus joins the list of incorporations that, for now, is composed of Matt Costello, Vanja Marinkovic, Simone Fontecchio and Wade Baldwin IV.
Granger joined the Alava club for the first time in the summer of 2017, with a commitment for three seasons. Injuries, however, were a permanent drag on the Uruguayan in his last two years, a period during which he was only able to wear shorts in 21 ACB and 12 Euroleague games. Even so, Granger rejoined in time to play the final phase of the league, a tournament in which Baskonia would be proclaimed champions in June of last year.
After ending his relationship with the Vitoria club, the Uruguayan point guard embarked on the German adventure joining Aíto García Reneses at ALBA in Berlin. With the team from the German capital, Granger has been able to stay away from the infirmary and enjoy, once again, continuity. In that last year he has played 28 Euroleague matches averaging 8.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 23 minutes, while in the Bundesliga he has signed 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 22 minutes in 34 games.
With his move to Baskonia, Granger will once again share a dressing room with Simone Fontecchio, a player with whom he recently celebrated the title of Bundesliga champion. Granger was also chosen MVP of the finals, scoring 29 points in the last and decisive match played in Munich and in which ALBA beat Bayern Munich 79-86 to close the tie by 1 to 3.
