THE GIRONÍ ATTACK
Those of Alfred Julbe are the ones that have scored the most points this season in the Regular League. The best offense in the category (75.4) is also the team that plays the most possessions. They are followed by Perfumerías Avenida (75.3) and Valencia BC (72.3), the three main candidates for the title. As for individual numbers, there is also Gironí color; the player with the most points in her hands that will be in Valencia is Kennedy Burke (15.4), ahead of Rebekha Gardner (14.9) and Mariam Coulibaly (14.5).
THE SALMANTIN DEFENSE
If SPAR Girona stands out for its offensive production, the defense has the blue color of Perfumerías Avenida. They only concede 55.0 points per game, ahead of Valencia BC’s 58.0 and SPAR Girona’s 60.5 and Cadí La Seu’s 60.7. Roberto Íñiguez’s team has left its rivals below 50 points on nine occasions, while the 77 points scored by SPAR Girona in Würzburg are the highest figure in the Regular League.
SHOOTERS CALIBRATE THEIR AIM
Perfumerías Avenida is also the team with the best three-point shooting, a 39.4% success rate. The IDK Euskotren and Valencia BC also exceed 35%. In absolute numbers, Avenida (179) and Movistar Estudiantes (165) are the ones that score the most since the 6.75 of the teams participating in the Cup, far from the 198 triples of Baxi Ferrol. In terms of individual numbers, the best shooters are Bec Allen (50.5%), Leo Rodríguez (49.4%) and Antonio Delaere (44.7%).
THE ‘REBOUND’ FACTOR
Securing the rebound and having second chances is essential in short tournaments. In the rebounding section, SPAR Girona stands out (35.5), ahead of Cadí la Seu (34.9) and IDK Euskotren (34.2), although no one gets more offensive rebounds than the players from La Seu d’Urgell (9.0). Irati Etxarri has a lot to do with this ranking and her 8.5 rebounds per game (top of players who will be in the Cup).
Six of the ten most valued players of the season will be in Valencia; 15 if we raise the record to 20. Rebeka Gardner (18.8 average rating points), Kennedy Burke (18.7) and Mariam Coulibaly (18.4) dispute the first place in the ranking to the absent and injured Sika Koné. Players who are shining this season will also be present, such as Irati Etxarri (16.4, Emese Hof (15.6) and Nadia Fingall (13.8).
THE PRECEDENTS WOULD GIVE CHAMPION TO THE AVENUE
If we were guided by the last disputed result, the quarterfinals would fall on the side of the top seeds, who beat their rivals in the Regular League: Perfumerías Avenida (+13), Cadí la Seu (+5), SPAR Girona ( +11) and Valencia BC (+7). In the semifinals they would win Avenida (+23) and SPAR Girona (+6). It would therefore be a final between two teams that have faced each other five times this season, with an advantage for the Salamanca team of 3 wins for 2 losses.
