The Spanish Basketball Federation wants to publicly thank the nationalization of the player Lorenzo Brown, agreed by the Council of Ministers after the steps taken by the Higher Sports Council. The incorporation of Brown, to whom the FEB wishes to offer a warm welcome, is part of the strategy of expanding the base of players and talent available so that the National Teams can configure their teams, and face the international commitments to which they are faces Spain with the greatest possible guarantees.

Lorenzo Brown (Roswell, United States, 1990) acquires Spanish nationality after expressing his desire to participate in the game of the National Team, whose career he has followed with admiration in recent years. His arrival will provide an immediate solution to the loss due to injury to some of the most charismatic members of our National Team, a role that he will later expand as a team player, thanks to his versatility on the court. This temporary measure complements the training work of the FEB to ensure generational changes.

The President of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Jorge Garbajosa, wanted “Welcome Lorenzo Brown to the Family of Spanish basketball. We appreciate his desire to join us, which is, at the same time, the best demonstration of the mark that our way of competing in recent years has left on the world. Brown is coming to help us get through a summer that was difficult due to injuries, but his role will not end there, because his incorporation responds to the strategic line of expanding the player and talent base that we are carrying out. We are convinced that the combination of short- and long-term policies will allow us to raise the level of our players, and continue to bring the name of Spain to the top of international competitions”.
