Gold in the women’s category and bronze in the men’s category. The harvest of the U23 3×3 teams has been very productive, with only one loss in the three days of competition. Aina Ayuso, Natalia Rodríguez, Helena Pueyo and Carolina Guerrero climbed to the top of the podium.

Spectacular performance of Spain in the Mediterranean Games. A gold and a bronze in 3×3 basketball after three intense days of competition at Place Sidi M’Hamed in Oran.

In the female category there were six games and six wins. An immaculate first phase (Turkey, Greece and Slovenia), to reach the crossroads, where Tunisia fell in the quarterfinals and Italy in the semis. The final was against the other great favorite: France. A historic duel in all categories, but one that is taking on ‘classic’ overtones in 3×3. Very close final that was decided in the last seconds. Aina Ayuso (4 points) and Helena Pueyo (5) were the best.

In the male category, the quartet formed by Unai Mendicote, Isaac Mayo, Guillem Arcos and Pablo González Longarela They formed a very solid team capable of achieving a bronze medal of great merit. They suffered in the first phase in a powerful group with Slovenia and Portugal. In the quarterfinals, the host, Algeria, who had thoroughly prepared the tournament, was lucky. It was possible to win, unlike in the semifinal against Serbia, in which the offensive torrent of the Balkans could not be stopped. Of course, they recovered to win the bronze against Turkey with a great game from Mendicote and Mayo.
