The Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia will host this Sunday, June 13, the return of the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank circuit, after a hiatus of almost a year and a half, forced by the health crisis. The Valencian capital will be in charge of kicking off the 2021 edition, just a few days before the start of the Women’s Eurobasket.


After the forced hiatus of almost a year and a half due to the health crisis, the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank circuit returns to the large squares of Spanish cities. The 2021 edition will start this Sunday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, where the Women’s EuroBasket is about to start.

Valencia will be only the first stop of the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2021 circuit, which already have the dates of June 20 (Castellón), July 3 (Malaga) and July 10 (Alicante) fixed on the calendar. After these first four days, others will come, which will be confirmed over the next few weeks.

A total of 535 participants, Distributed in 154 teams and they are scheduled 162 games. The day will start at 9:00 am and is scheduled to end at approximately 8:00 pm, with the awards ceremony to all the winners. At noon, the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank will receive another exceptional visit, that of FEB Ambassador Fernando Romay, who will be in charge of organizing and entertaining various shooting and skill contests for all participants.

The event has the support of the Valencia City Council, the Valencia Provincial Council, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, and with the participation of a team of 25 volunteers, attached to the FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program. More than 42,000 participants since 2012

The FEB launched the Plaza 3×3 program in 2012, from its first edition in conjunction with CaixaBank. The nine stops of 2019, the last that could be held, raised the figures for this street basketball promotion program to more than 42,000 participants and 200,000 visitors. A very positive balance of this emblematic program, which in its eight editions has already visited 39 cities throughout Spain.
