ANDhe MoraBanc Andorra won again this Thursday after five consecutive defeats and beat Urbas Fuenlabrada 85-71.

Ibon Navarro’s men were solid again and had ‘Tyson’ Pérez as the best player of the game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and a PIR of 17.

There was maximum equality in the first ten minutes of the game. MoraBanc Andorra opted to give more solidity to its game and it looked a little more like its best version. Defensive lucidity and mobility in attack.

Belarusian center Artsiom Parakhouski scored six consecutive points, but after four minutes he was exhausted towards the bench. Neither team achieved clear advantages, although those from the Principality had four points at 14-10.

Those of Josep Maria Raventós reacted with two consecutive dunks, one by Diallo and the other by Eyenga. At the end of the first act, 16-16.

The beginning of the second quarter had two well marked faces. In three minutes, Ibon Navarro’s men nailed three triples, by Oriol Paulí, ‘Tyson’ Pérez and Clevin Hannah, for a 9-0 run. The defense of those of the Principality asphyxiated Urbas Fuenlabrada, but Josep Maria Raventós requested a time-out and activated his players to improve in defense and have clearer ideas in attack.

The visitors tied the game (25 to 25), returning the set to the Andorrans with 0-9. Ibon Navarro called a time-out and his players returned to the court with more spark and more intensity. The set was 13-4 with eight consecutive points from David Jelínek and an ‘alley hoop’ from Oriol Paulí to leave a 38-29 at halftime. On the part of Urbas Fuenlabrada, Melo Trimble disconnected.

In the resumption, MoraBanc through defense dominated Urbas Fuenlabrada. His intensity gave him control and the maximum differences also arrived. He started with a 7-2 partial with a 3 + 1 from Jelínek to leave a 45-31 (+14) and with a new 7-1 partial he achieved +16 (52-36).

Three free throws scored by Cheatham broke the Andorran set. Josep Maria Raventós’s men had a hard time scoring and were trapped in the defensive framework designed by Navarro. Those of the Principality knew what they were playing and Urbas Fuenlabrada did not appear and lost by 20 points (59-39 and 61-41). At the end of the third quarter, 63-46 and game, relatively, on track.

The success in those of the Principality continued in the last quarter. They gave no margin for surprise. In attack they continued unleashed with triples from Senglin and ‘Tyson’ Pérez. Their advantage of 20 points was not in danger, since Urbas Fuenlabrada was not at all successful in attack.

In addition, the recovery of ‘Tyson’, after two months injured, was a fact. The Spanish international scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for a PIR of 17. Only at the end, Urbas Fuenlabrada made up the score with the points of Melo Trimble who did not score in 39 minutes of the game.
