ANDl Urbas Fuenlabrada has announced the signing of the Malian pivot until the end of the season Check Diallo, 24 years old and 2.03 meters, with experience in the American NBA and coming from the Russian Avtodor Saratov.

Diallo was trained in the University of American Kansas, was chosen with the draft number 33 of the year 2016 and since then he has played four seasons and 180 games between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Phoenix Suns, with an average of 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 12 minutes per game.

The new interior of Fuenlabrada, whose arrival does not mean the departure of any player from the current squad as confirmed by club sources to EFE, comes from the Russian Avtodor Saratov with whom he was contesting the VTB League, with an average of 7.7 points and 5.2 rebounds.

“His arrival it is a reinforcement for the squad and it will give us one more rotation. We must bear in mind that we have players who are now going through the covid and we must see how they are physically when they rejoin. And others who have not yet passed it and that is a risk in this very important stretch of the season, “explained Ferran López, sports director of Fuenlabreños.

This signing gives the Madrid team “more physical in the interior positions since they can play both four and five,” according to López.

“It will give us above all intensity, rebound, defense (…) He is an active player on both sides of the field, he is strong and athletic, capable of changing in defense with little ones. It will give us one more rotation, “he added.

Urbas Fuenlabrada is currently fifteenth in the Endesa League with nine victories, two more than the two relegation teams, Retabet Bilbao and Acunsa GBC. Their last two games, against Morabanc Andorra and Retabet Bilbao, have had to be postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in the Madrid team, which has affected four members of the squad.
