The Movistar Estudiantes squad for LEB Oro closes with the renewal of Edwin Jackson (guard, 1.90m., 1989). The French exterior will be the last piece to face the challenge of the 2021-22 season, showing their commitment to the club.

Jackson will add talent, work and involvement in the tough LEB Oro. Movistar Estudiantes already has 12 confirmed players.

Trained in French basketball, he stood out for his talent from a very young age, first at INSEP, and later at Nanterre, Rouen or ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne. It is precisely in this last team that he ‘explodes’ as a player, being the top scorer in the 2013-14 French league, and with striking performances also in Eurocup.

In December 2014 he went to FC Barcelona, ??and in the summer of 2015, to Unicaja. His best season in our basketball, with Movistar Estudiantes: in 2016-17 he finished as the top scorer in the Endesa League, with averages (21.4 points) that had not been seen for decades and with memorable performances.

After his great season with Movistar Estudiantes, he played in 2017-18 with Guangdong Dongguan (CBA, China) and Barça (Endesa League and Euroleague); and 2018-19 with Buducnost (Euroleague, ABA and Mo Prva, Montenegro). He returned to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in 2019-20, averaging 11.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the French Jeep Elite, and 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in the Euroleague. , until he returned to Movistar Estudiantes in February 2020.

After a difficult season for him, in which a wrist injury has prevented him from showing his best version, he renews and stays in Madrid, demonstrating his commitment to the entity. Like his colleagues, he goes through medical examinations these days and begins training.

“Its continuity is thanks to its level of commitment to the entity”

The Technical Secretary of Movistar Estudiantes, Íñigo de la Villa, analyzes this important renovation for the LEB Oro team.

“It is a luxury to be able to count on Edwin. Its continuity is thanks to its involvement and level of commitment to the entity, we face this challenge all together and it has always been very favorable to help.
We are going to discover little about him as a player, he brings together many of the things we want for the team and for the club. We hope that he will show us his quality, adapting to the reality in which we are going to play: his ability to manage and generate, not just that pure scorer that we could see at the time. “
