ANDl former international soccer referee Antonio Jesus Lopez Nieto will be named new president of Unicaja basketball next week by the club’s board of directors, according to sources from the cajista entity.

Lopez Nieto, so far one of the eIn charge of arbitration appointments in LaLiga de Fútbol, leaves his post due to incompatibility of positions and will direct from the offices to the composer club, that in recent times has undergone profound changes, especially in the institutional sphere.

Following the resignation of the previous president, Eduardo Garcia, last March and after 11 years in the presidency, the Unicaja Foundation, owner of the club, appointed a few weeks ago Sergio Corral, advisor and director of the institution as the maximum leader of the club on an interim basis.

The malagueño Lopez Nieto, at the previous meeting of the Unicaja board of directors, he was appointed new advisor like Rafael Fernández, Marta Bravo and Antonio López Expósito.

Starting next Wednesday, López Nieto will disembark at Unicaja and, with him, predictably Juanma Rodriguez as sports director, in what will mean his return after a tour at Coosur Betis.
