ANDhe Barça coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, told the club’s media on Friday that his team is “very motivated to play the first title of the season and the first thing is to try to reach the final.”

The Barça coach assured that Valencia Basket is one of the “most uncomfortable teams to defend” due to the “versatility” of its pivots, which gives them “many options” to do “different” things in attack.

“It is a team with pivots that are very difficult to defend and it will be very important to know what we can let them do and what the basic things are for us,” added the coach.

Jasikevicius stated that the team had a “much better training week than the previous one” that culminated in the defeat in the final of the Catalan League against Baxi Manresa (81-70) and criticism of the coach to his players for the attitude in the training sessions prior to the Catalan competition.

In that sense, the coach assured that before the dispute of the first title of the year, the only one in the ACB competition that escaped Barça last season, the team has “better motivation and this time I don’t think it will fail us.”
