Joan Plaza will be the coach of Coosur Real Betis for the 2021-2022 season, according to what the coach has communicated to the Betis entity, which he arrived last December and with which he has achieved permanence in the Endesa League.

Plaza (Barcelona, ??12/26/1963) took charge of Coosur Real Betis in a delicate situation after having only won two wins in eleven games and finally achieved the goal of permanence several days in advance after adding nine victories since his incorporation.

The Catalan coach was coach of Real Madrid between 2006 and 2009, years in which he won a ULEB Cup and an Endesa League; between 2009 and 2012 he lived his first stage in Seville and reached the final of the Eurocup with the then Cajasol in 2011; and later he trained Zalgiris Kaunas (2012/13), Unicaja Málaga (2013-18) and Zenit (2018-20)

Joan Plaza has expressed to the media of the Betic club his “pride” for continuing and affirmed that this makes him “more concentrated if possible” in his objective of contributing to the entity and the city having “an important place in the ACB” and that this is not subject to “ups and downs”, but to achieve solidity “to bet on greater challenges”.
