Melilla Sport Capital informs of the agreement reached with JV Mukama, so that the Canadian with a Rwandan passport defends the jersey of the Melilla team this next 2021/22 campaign.
Jean-Victor Mukama (Canada, 1994) began playing basketball in Hamilton, his native city, specifically for the Académie Catholique Mére-Teresa. Mukana was recruited by Ryersnon University, with whom he played Canada-U Sports averaging almost 17 points in his final season. That good season earned him to try in the summer with the Raptors 905, an NBA G League team affiliated with the NBA Torontos Raptors, although he did not make his debut with the Canadian team.
The season would end in Rwanda, his parents’ native country, enrolled in the Kigali Patriots with whom he went on to overcome two rounds of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the most prestigious competition on the African continent. Last summer, Mukama signed with the Honey Badgers of the Canadian CEBL, with whom he reached the semifinals and where he averaged 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds. Last season he had his first European experience in the Dutch league with Aris Leeduwarden, averaging 10.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the ten games he played. This summer the player signed again for the Honey Badgers with whom he is CEBL, after which he will join the Dean.
