A unique #LaFamilia. The initiative that since this summer has promoted the FEB, by which the two Absolute Selections share the hashtag #LaFamilia, has been staged this Thursday on the track of the Palacio de los Deportes Martín Carpena in Malaga, where both teams have coincided for a few days on their way to prepare for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Hours before the double confrontation with France, in the interval between the training of the Male and the Female, the components of both teams posed with the hashtag poster, which enshrines the FEB’s commitment to gender equality, developed in many ways in recent years.
The FEB initiative is part of its Communication strategy to impose real gender equality, the hashtag that has become an unequivocal brand of Spanish basketball and a benchmark for the entire national sport.
It is one more step in the equality policy of the FEB, which is also reflected in the greater number of women in National Teams and in the federative structure itself.
In addition to players and coaches, the FEB director general participated in the event, Oscar Graefenhain; the president of the FAB and vice president of the FEB, Antonio de Torres; the mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre; the Councilor for Sports of the Malaga City Council, Noelia Losada; the Secretary General for Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, Jose Maria Arrabal; and the first vice president of the Malaga Provincial Council, Juan Carlos Maldonado.
The female captain, Laia Palau, has ensured that “We are all the Family. Both teams have always been defined by the great atmosphere and camaraderie that we have”.
For his part, the captain of the Masculina, Rudy fernandez, has highlighted that “We are a great family. It is the first time we have played, we are going to play together and tomorrow we will travel together to Paris. We are very happy to be able to do these days of concentration together with the Feminine”.
