The Valencia Basket project continues to consolidate itself in the elite of Spanish women’s basketball. After a great season in which the team has reached the three finals of the three competitions it has played, lifting the EuroCup Women title, the taronja team seeks to reinforce and lay the foundations of a historic squad for the season 2021-22.
With this objective, Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with Leticia Romero, so that she continues to be part of the team next season. The Canarian player thus joins the also renewed Bec Allen and Raquel Carrera, Queralt Casas, Anna Gómez, Laura Gil and Cristina Ouviña, who already had a contract in force for the next season. The guard-guard, after the injury he suffered last season, has returned to the slopes this year in great shape. A return that has not gone unnoticed, as the national team has re-entered the lists of the Spanish team.
The player came to Valencia Basket two seasons ago, in 2019-20, from Prague and the WNBA. Romero burst into the team, but was injured mid-season and did not play again until the start of the 2020-21 season. The Canarian began to win in minutes and confidence and ended up completing a great campaign in which she averaged 6.3 points, 2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a PIR of 8.1 between LF Endesa and EuroCup Women. In his two seasons in Valencia Basket he has played a total of 58 games (43 in LF Endesa, 11 in EuroCup Women, 3 in Copa de la Reina and 1 in Super Cup).
In the club’s history it is 17th in matches, 20th in points (366), 10th in triples (58) and 6th in assists (113), taking into account that these last two data began to be recorded when the team went up to LF2.
