Sergio Llull has done it again. The Real Madrid player conquered his third award from MVP Movistar of the Endesa Super Cup, after those obtained in 2014 and 2018, equaling Navarro as the player with the most individual distinctions in this tournament.
“A lot of emotions. Very difficult years on a personal level, especially physically. To play a good game and help the team win, those are the emotions. In fact, toyer I argued with my wife after the game because she hadn’t played well “, acknowledged the guard after wiping the tears with which he celebrated the triumph of Real Madrid.
The Balearic averaged 13 points and 14 valuation in the title of Real Madrid against Barça, standing out especially in the moment of truth for his team, for which he won the vote of fans and the media.
In the semifinals, against Lenovo Tenerife, Llull had a testimonial performance, with only 7 minutes and 20 seconds on the track, in which he achieved 2 points, forcing a personal foul and finishing with a PIR of 1.
And something like that seemed to happen in the final, after playing only one minute in the first period, in which he brought a recovery. Nevertheless, in the second quarter he added 8 points to keep Real Madrid alive, in the third he chained 11 in 5 minutes, with a final sprint that fueled the white comeback, and in the fourth he appeared again with 5 points to finish off his task.
Total, 24 points in 19 minutes and 41 seconds, with 5/6 in free throws, 5/6 in shots of two and 3/5 in triples. In addition, he added 2 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal and forced 5 personal fouls for a 27 PIR., with a +13 balance for his team with him on the track.
Another MVP for the collection
Llull can boast of having been MVP Movistar of the Endesa League (2016-17), the Final Playoff (2015 and 2016), the Copa del Rey (2012 and 2017) and the Endesa Super Cup (2014, 2018 and 2021), with eight nominations as the best in acb competitions.
Llull takes over from Facu Campazzo in the MVP Movistar, succeeding the Argentine baseman, designated the best in the last four titles won by the white club: Final Playoff of the Endesa League 2018-19, Endesa Super Cup 2019, Copa del Rey 2020 and Endesa de Tenerife Super Cup 2020.
