ANDl Real Madrid achieved this Saturday its first victory of the preseason with dominance and great performance by Vincent Poirier against UCAM Murcia in the Costa del Sol Tournament (80-65), the last test before the Endesa Super Cup next weekend, at which adds the doubt of Thomas Heurtel, who retired injured in an ankle.

With the absences of Sergio Llull and Rudy Fernández, Pablo Laso repeated an inside pair and the decision was translated into immediate impact, as Yabusele and Poirier were differentials in points and rebounds under a good direction from Heurtel. A 4/8 in triples was a useful weapon to march nine up in a first quarter where UCAM Murcia went from less to more.

With the rhythm of the game increasing, Jeff Taylor raised the audience with a spectacular dunk (27-16) and the Murcian team was looking for a way to hurt inside, aware of the bad percentages from outside, with a great Emanuel Cate, but his defense was still too soft for a lethal Madrid, led by Causeur (39-27 at halftime). Minutes before halftime, point guard Thomas Heurtel sprained an ankle in a jump and left the court with a visible limp.

McFadden warmed up the wrist and UCAM Murcia threatened with a reaction that managed to stop the white team, closing back and driven by Alocen with confidence from the triple, who shared a quintet for a good handful of minutes with Ndiaye: a clear bet for the talent young man picks up wickers in rotation.

The last quarter was a formality for the madridistas and a not very hopeful scenario for Sito Alonso’s team, closing the gap with an outside shot and cleaning up the final score of a clash where Vincent Poirier was the main protagonist in the paint with 18 points.

Real Madrid concludes its preseason with this victory against the Murcian, who managed to beat the whites last Monday, and already set the goal in the Endesa Super Cup, which starts next Saturday 11 against Lenovo Tenerife (10pm) .
