ANDhe Baxi Manresa achieved its sixteenth victory of the season, 93-81 against Acunsa GBC, a team that played in this match for a good part of its stay in the Endesa League.

The locals kept a good part of the clash ahead on the scoreboard, although the momentum of the visitors forced them to win the game more than once.

Manresa started the duel with an 11-2 run that quickly forced Marcelo Nicola to stop the game with a time-out (11-2 min.3).

Baxi Manresa started very aggressive in defense and giving rhythm to the game with quick transitions. But as the Basque team was rotating the bench, they improved and held on to the result to leave an even score at the end of the first ten minutes (26-25).

The rhythm slowed in the opening bars of the second quarter. A period that passed with the exchange of baskets and two offensive leaders, center Eatherton for the local part (14 points at halftime) and forward Dee for the visiting side (17 in the first two quarters).

The locals put one more march in the final stretch of the first half to reach the break with a 7-point lead (48-41).

Gipuzkoa came out better in the third quarter, more intense in defense and creating doubts in Manresa’s attack. With a 2-11 run, the visitors tied the score (50-50 min.23), but did not finish the comeback.

The party faded: little control and many losses. And that allowed the locals to stay ahead on the scoreboard after finishing the period with a little more success (69-60).

The last quarter started with the injury of local point guard Dani García. But even so, Manresa started with a favorable partial of 7-5 that put the difference in 11 points (76-65, min 34).

The players of the Manresa team brought out the character and individual talent to go extending distances until the final 91-83.
