HLA Alicante and Osvaldas Matulionis (Lithuania, 1991) have reached an agreement to renew the Lithuanian player’s contract for the next two seasons. In this way, Matulionis will complete his second consecutive season in the Lucentian ranks and the HLA Alicante will once again have one of the most experienced forwards in the competition.
Matulionis, who came to HLA Alicante from Leyma Coruña, has participated in all the matches played by the Lucentian team in this last LEB Oro campaign.
In the 34 games played with the HLA Alicante jersey, Matulionis has posted an average of 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for a total of 9.7 PIR credits. The Lithuanian forward was one of the most used players last season with 28.4 minutes of play per game.
The Lithuanian, in addition to the statistical aspect, has stood out in many intangibles during the track. His defensive dedication and commitment are some of the highlights of Matulionis last season
Statements by Rafa Monclova:
“A reference player in the category, with many years of experience in Spain at a very good level. He is one of the best players in the league at his position. Last year he didn’t miss a game and that speaks volumes about his fitness, mentality and commitment.
Behind the numbers he is a recognizable player for the fans. Everyone has spoken very highly of him at the dressing room level. Very pleased that he can continue with us”
