ANDhe forward of Acunsa Gipuzkoa Basket Pere Tomás tested positive this Wednesday in a routine control for COVID-19, while the rest of the squad has not been infected so far.
The Basque club, which was preparing the match against EL Monbus Obradoiro, communicated the result of its player, who, as reported, “has been confined at home as established by the protocols.”
Tomás, according to Gipuzkoa Basket, “is fine” after the virus was detected in an antigen test, forcing the rest of the staff to undergo a PCR.
The result of the entire team has been negative, but it will take a few days to confirm that the entire squad is free of COVID-19 and can face Obradoiro on Saturday.
The party, for now, remains in the Illunbe facilities, which these days are being used for the massive practice of the vaccination program in the territory of Gipuzkoa.
The loss of Tomás will be important in a game in which his team, if it is finally played, plays a lot in the fight for permanence, since he loses his starting forward and fourth scorer of the team, with an average of 8.8 points.
