Melilla continues to be committed to sports and basketball, and has shown it again this morning with the presentation of the Melilla Tournament of the Camino al Futuro tour of the women’s team. The President of the Autonomous City, Edward deCastro, has been in charge of presenting the tournament to the media, together with the general director of the FEB, Oscar Graefenhain. Also present were the Minister of Infrastructures, Urbanism and Sport, Rachid Bussian; the president of the Melilla Federation, Javier Almanza, and Ambassador FEB, Fernando Romey.

The selection of Miguel Mendez will be concentrated in Madrid on Tuesday, May 24, and the next day they will travel to Melilla for their first stop, where they will meet until June 3. Spain will face the teams of Belgium, one of the 12 participants in the World Cup, and Italy. It will be in two games that will be played on Wednesday, June 1 and Friday, June 3, both at 9:00 p.m., at the Javier Imbroda Pavilion. Both can be followed live on Teledeporte. The tournament will be completed with the match between Belgium and Italy, on Thursday the 2nd at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this tournament can already be obtained on the official website of the FEB.

Miguel Méndez has called up 16 players who make up a list that highlights the combination of experience and youth, with 4 debutants. As bases they will attend Silvia Domínguez, Maite Cazorla and Laura Peña. Leticia Romero will take turns between the position of base and escort sharing position with the rest of “2”, Angela Salvadores, Leo Rodriguez and Queralt Casas. The outside line is completed by Alba Torrens and María Conde in the forward position.
