DEPT. REAL VALLADOLID BTO COMMUNICATION.

Sergio de la Fuente will continue to be the watchword of the Sur-Aspasia Real Valladolid Basketball Clinic. The Blanquivioleta Club and the captain have reached a renewal agreement whereby the power forward will continue in Pisuerga for one more season with Pucela. The ’22’, in this way, will complete his seventh season in the team, all since its foundation.

With 180 games behind him, Sergio de la Fuente stands as the player with the most matches in the history of the Valladolid entity and his continuity implies that the number will continue to grow during the 2021/2022 academic year.

In six seasons, Sergio de la Fuente has played a total of 56 games (42 in the regular phase and 14 in the playoffs) in LEB Plata and 124 (113 in the league, eight in promotion playoffs and one in the 2020 Princess Cup) in the four courses that he has participated in the current LEB Oro.

Last season, under the orders of Hugo López, the ’22’ of the Sur-Aspasia Clinic signed averages of 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and a PIR of 10.9 in the 24 games he played with Real Valladolid Baloncesto.

In fact, in the last meeting of the campaign, Sergio de la Fuente reached the round figure of 180 official appearances with the Club, enlarging his legacy in an entity in which he will continue during the upcoming 2021/2022 season, this time with Roberto González on the bench of Pisuerga.

“We hope to continue to excite the fans”

The captain of the Sur-Aspasia Clinic, after reaching the renewal agreement, showed his satisfaction and sent a message regarding the new course. “I am very happy to renew one more year and continue in the project. I have been at the Club for seven years, defending the shirt and the colors, and I am very happy to continue with my people, my city, my family, my friends and all the people of the Club. We hope to continue to fight and excite the fans, which is the most important thing, ”acknowledged Sergio de la Fuente.

Roberto González, for his part, appreciated the continuity of the historic Blanquivioleta ’22’ with satisfaction. “For us it is very good news because Sergio de la Fuente represents what we want to continue being: character, commitment, dedication and heart. He has been proving his worth in the league for many years and this year, after the difficulties of the past, he is sure to once again demonstrate his very high level, ”said the Clinica Sur-Aspasia Real Valladolid Baloncesto coach.
