This agreement will be valid until December 31, 2021.
According to Concepción Méndez, this agreement does nothing other than “reaffirm the collaboration that the City Council wants to have with one of the main exponents of sport in our city.” The mayor also wanted to highlight “the good relationship that exists between both institutions” and highlighted “the commitment led by Alfredo Canteli so that the Oviedo Club Baloncesto continues to be the great reference in basketball, not only in Oviedo but throughout Asturias.” Finally, the Councilor for Sports of the Oviedo City Council emphasized the “great quarry work carried out by the Club, essential so that the youngest athletes in our municipality can choose to achieve great goals in this sport.”
Fernando Villabella, president of the Oviedo Club Baloncesto, also values ??this agreement: “From Oviedo Baloncesto we are grateful for another year to have this subsidy, which for us is essential for the development of the season. There are already many years in which the City Council has collaborated with the club, and has become a key partner for our work, our development and growth, not only with the professional team, which allows us to bear the name of the city by the Spanish territory, but also to maintain and improve quarry work, which brings together more than 300 boys and girls who fill the Pumarín Sports Center every day. We are grateful that the Oviedo City Council trusts us with this important role ”.
