ANDhe Valencia Basket announced this Friday that the guard Joan Sastre will not continue in the entity after both parties have not reached an agreement to renew the contract that united them until June 30.

Sastre, who arrived at Valencia after paying his release clause to Zaragoza, which amounted to around 200,000 euros, has played five seasons at the club, although his career has been marked by some injuries.

Even so, he was a key player in the three titles that the club achieved at this stage, especially in the ACB League of the 2016-17 campaign but also in the 2017 Super Cup and the 2019 European Championship.

After ending his contract a few days ago, Valencia approached Sastre but both parties have not reached an agreement and the player announced today in a video message that he will play at Lenovo Tenerife, a club that has officially confirmed his signing. for the next two seasons, with the option of a third.

Sastre, a 2.01 and 29-year-old guard, already played under the current Canarian coach, Txus Vidorreta, during the stage in which he led Valencia in 2017-18.
