ANDhe UCAM Murcia, led by Jordan Davis and Emanuel Cate, won this Sunday with authority 91-68 at Casademont Zaragoza and turned the return of the public to the Palace into a party.

UCAM closes the season in twelfth place in the Endesa League with a record of 16 victories and 20 defeats and waiting for places to be awarded to play the FIBA ??Champions League. The Aragonese team, meanwhile, finished just behind the table with two fewer wins when their goal was to be much higher.

The meeting had a very defined script from the beginning and that is that UCAM started with a 7-2 start that clearly marked the way. A triple by Conner Frankamp stretched the rent to 15-6 and not even a time-out requested by Luis Casimiro fixed the situation for the handful.

In fact, another triple, this one converted by Isaiah Taylor, caused the Murcians to double them on the scoreboard (25-12) to the delight of a fans overturned after almost 15 months without seeing theirs closely.

The first quarter ended with a +10 for Sito Alonso’s men (29-19) and the offensive fluidity and, above all, the greater determination of the university students allowed them to continue opening the gap: 37-21 in the middle of the second period.

The great collective work, with Cate becoming great in the inside game in the absence of Augusto Lima’s injury, and the drive of Davis, the top scorer in the first half with 12 goals, reflected the superiority of a UCAM CB that, despite a slight rival improvement, reached the intermediate with 11 income points (44-33).

He did not change the decoration after passing through the changing rooms and five starting points of the active and incisive Davis shot his team, which touched the twenty points in favor in the 24th minute (53-35).

The distance did not stop increasing (60-37) and, although the Casademont tried to hold on to the crash, they barely cut seven points, something not very remarkable given the figures that the Palace electronic presented.

With 66-50 the ball was put into play for the final ten minutes and the Murcian team’s desire to win continued to set the tone.

Cate, even with a triple for 89-64 that was the maximum difference in the match, put the Palace on its feet, in which the Romanian pivot was chanted, who finished with 21 points, the same as Davis and Rasheed Souleimane, and 13 rebounds for a PIR of 29.

The Murcian team, who won each of the four quarters, passed over an opponent denied especially in the triple with a painful 0/17 from beyond the arc.

The afternoon ended with a party with the members of the red squad taking to the track one by one when they were announced over the loudspeaker and with the public clapping eagerly, those that they have accumulated in so many months without being able to sit in the stands.
