ANDhe Valencia Basket achieved this Friday the first victory of the season on the Baxi Manresa court in a match matched only in the first quarter, since from then on the ‘taronja’ team went from less to more until breaking the match in the third period, which allowed him to add a choral victory with five players above the double digits in scoring (69-89).

The first act had two faces. A better start for Baxi Manresa, taking advantage of the visitors losses very well to achieve points in transition. Later, the locals lowered the success in their attacks and Valencia was connecting to the match thanks to the three-point shot (14-20 min 9). A first period marked by the losses of both teams (8 for each).

Valencia Basket came out with clearer ideas and more effective than Manresa in the second quarter. The Valencian players progressively escaped on the scoreboard due to the lack of success and precipitation in attack by the locals (26-36 min 17). The ‘taronja’ team lost some fluidity in the final stretch of the period but managed to keep the advantage of ten points before the break.

The third period began with an exchange of baskets and Valencia maintaining the advantage. At the moment that Baxi Manresa chained two good actions in attack and defense, the visiting coach stopped the match (39-46 min 24). Joan Peñarroya achieved what he was looking for and his team regained the initial advantage of the quarter against a Baxi Manresa who suffered to control his defensive rebound (23 from Valencia to 16 from Manresa).

The game entered its last ten minutes with a wide difference for Valencia that they knew how to maintain. Baxi Manresa did not lower the intensity, but lacked more success to put in trouble a visiting team very comfortable in attack. The exchange of baskets took place until the end, already with the party on track by the visitors.
